Directive 8020 is an interactive sci-fi horror game set aboard a deep-space colony ship traveling to a distant planet. The story follows a group of crew members who begin to suspect that something dangerous is hiding among them after a mysterious incident occurs. As paranoia spreads, they must investigate, make difficult choices and try to survive while uncovering the truth behind the threat before it’s too late.
During my time on this project, I contributed across multiple areas, including narrative development, horror design, level design and gameplay design. I helped shape the story and key horror moments, ensuring they were effectively integrated into the player experience through both level layout and gameplay mechanics. I was also involved in implementing interactive elements and systems that supported the overall design.
In addition to development work, I attended motion capture shoots where I provided guidance on the narrative context and advised on how certain animations should be performed to align with character intent and story beats. This helped ensure consistency between the narrative vision and the final in-game performances.
Overall, this project strengthened my ability to deliver cohesive player experiences, while giving me the opportunity to take ownership and proactively push new ideas.
