FORTNITE: STAR WARS: DEATH STAR SABOTAGE
YEAR: 2025
TYPE: Professional Project @ Magnopus
ROLE: Designer II
Fortnite: Star Wars: Death Star Sabotage is a live in-game event that blends cinematic storytelling with interactive gameplay set within the Star Wars universe. The experience takes players through a series of large-scale, action-driven sequences aboard and around the Death Star, where they participate in coordinated objectives and dynamic set pieces. As the event unfolds, players navigate shifting environments, engage with key moments from the Star Wars narrative, and work through escalating challenges leading towards a climactic finale.
During my time on this project, my primary focus was on level design and interaction design. This involved shaping sections of the experience to support clear player flow, pacing and engagement, while ensuring interactions were intuitive and aligned with the overall cinematic direction of the event. I worked closely with the client to ensure design decisions matched their creative vision and maintained consistency with the Star Wars IP.
This project enabled me to strengthen my level and interaction design skills - particularly in building clear player flow within large-scale cinematic experiences. I also gained valuable experience working closely with external clients, improving my ability to align design decisions with creative direction and respond effectively to feedback while maintaining design intent.
